Keep Going
The art of creating something new - understanding that just like the cell at inception, it does not know what the product is and how it along with millions of other cells come together to finally form this complex and beautiful being. Even though it is programmed in the DNA, it is near impossible to be in the process and to know how the random division of cells takes place, which cells serve which faculties and how the womb (the environment) is generated to inspire and create that end result.
This process does not end with childbirth, it continues in the matrix of the mind. From the birthing of adolescence, we contemplate life and our narrative. We do not know what the future brings, we begin to create and play in our environments tangible and intangible. From this a narrative is formed and we take the position of the observer, of our physical reality and the adjusted reality we generate in our minds.
From one is birthed the other and so the cycle continues. There is a beautiful, harrowing dance we engage in between what we see in our physical environment and the machinations we construct in our mind. Moments in time, snapshots are what we use to evaluate and take stock of what has transpired, to make predictions about what might happen moving forward.
You cannot know in the throws of your pursuit, which elements and context of your environment will generate the next step forward. What you can do, is be still - silent - and attempt to observe the signs your preoccupied self would not recognize. Then you would be a witness to the creative process.
If you’ve seen it once, you need little confirmation as you’ve peeked behind the curtain, you know it will be done. To start, we need to stop. The most important point after you’ve taken your first step is to keep going.
So, keep going. Keep building, keep thinking, keep learning, keep seeking.
I’ve put together a little exercise for you to reflect on. Hopefully it helps you recognize what has been shared in the post above.
For the Leaders, I hope it provides a moment of reflection. The innovation and change journey must begin.
